CHRISTMAS PARADE & BUSHEL BASKET TREE LIGHTING! SAT, DEC 3rd – afternoon shopping followed by the FAMOUS Bushel basket Tree lighting and downtown CHRISTMAS PARADE. The Tree Lighting kicks off at 4:30 PM, corner of Gay & Race Streets. Baywater Animal Rescue will be providing gift wrapping in exchange for donations Saturday afternoon 12pm – 5pm, 519 Poplar Street (Dorchester Star storefront).

GIFT WRAPPING FOR A CAUSE! NEW this year is GIFT WRAPPING FOR A CAUSE. Cambridge Main Street has partnered with local non-profits like the Dorchester YMCA, Baywater Animal Rescue, and the Lighthouse Foundation to provide gift wrapping in exchange for donations to the respective good cause. HOLIDAY SONG KARAOKE COMPETITION! CANCELLED – For the first time ever, downtown will host a Holiday Song Karaoke Competition! Details will be forth coming…so stay tuned! Featuring local “celebrity judge”, auditions will be hosted throughout downtown Nov. 23rd (RAR BREWING) & Nov. 30th (CANVASBACK). Auditions kick off at 7pm. Finals will be hosted during the evening of Second Saturday, Dec 10th, kicking off at 7pm.
TOY DRIVES! – Now through December 13th The Dorchester Santa Toy Drive will be collecting unwrapped toys to be given to area families during the holiday season. Katie Mae’s Country Shoppe will also be featuring the Miracle on Poplar Street Toy Drive between now and December 15th. Donations will be collected at Katie Mae’s and anywhere you see the “Dorchester Santa Toy Drive” sticker. Check out links to information via social media pages.
