Here’s a summary of all the events happening downtown for the holiday season! 

  • Black Friday & Small Business Saturday – Friday, Nov. 24 & Saturday, Nov. 25
  • Deck the Halls! Volunteers help put up downtown holiday wreaths & decorations – Friday, Nov. 24th. Meet at Cambridge Main Street office – 437 Race Street at 9:30am. Wraps up by lunchtime. Stretch you legs the day after Thanksgiving!
  • Shop Dine & Win! promotion – Kicks off on Friday, Nov. 24 and lasts until Dec 9th! Special Prize drawing 8pm, Saturday, Dec. 9th. Learn more about who is participating!
  • Spring Valley Tree Lighting and Ceremony – Friday, Nov 24th, 4:30pm. High & Spring Streets, 6pm
  • Holiday Train Garden – Muse Street Firehouse – open all of December – completely rebuilt this year! Special preview possible Friday, Nov 24th following the Spring Valley Tree lighting. Officially opens Dec 2nd through Dec 31st. COMPLETELY REBUILT in 2017!
  • Annual Christmas Parade & Bushel Basket Tree Lighting – Saturday, December 2nd, Music starts at 4pm. Tree Lighting at 4:45pm. Parade route includes Water / High Street through Poplar Street, 400 – 800 Race Streets. Ends near Washington / Race Street.
  • Chorus of Dorchester Holiday PerformancesTWO dates! Friday Dec 8th Christ Church 7p. And again on Tuesday, Dec 12th 7pm at Dorchester Center for the Arts 321 High Street.
  • Second Saturday – Holiday Edition – Saturday, December 9th
    • Simmon’s Center Market hosts holiday carriage rides through downtown. Grab your ride for their location at 600 Race Street.
    • Meet Santa! Meet Santa on stage at the historic Phillips Hardware Building, 447 Race Street 5 – 8pm. Crafts and refreshments for the kids!
    • Eastern Shore Kettle Korn sets up in Cannery Way, 3pm – 8pm
    • Richardson Maritime Museum Raffles off a custom made skiff, Cannery Way 3pm – 8pm
    • Cambridge School of Technology Greenhouse program sells greens and fresh wreaths, 3pm – 8pm
    • Habitat for Humanity – Cookie Walk! Habitat for Humanity welcomes you to their cookie walk event at Grace Church, 501 Race Street, from 4pm – 6pm. Support the Senior Repair Home Improvement project by contributing $10 for a box to fill with cookies! Over 1000 cookies to choose from!
    • Dorchester Santa Toy Drive Collection event – RAR Brewing 1pm – late! Bring your unwrapped toy to RAR Brewing and receive a special treat!
    • Shop, Dine & Win! promotion prize drawing, 8pm at the Bushel Basket Tree
    • Comedy Night! by Big Timing Comedy at Rock Lobstah Doors open at 8pm, show kicks off at 8:30pm.
  • New Year’s Downtown Boat Drop! Returns in 2017! Catch this deadrise boat on wheels as it rolls down the track on Poplar Street. Ringing in the New Year Eastern Shore style! Thanks to Bay Country Communications for organizing!
